That’s What Friends Are For

I think I am, by far, one of the most direct and straightforward person anyone can meet. But that is my way of being sincere to people. What is the point of hiding something from someone if blurting it out will benefit the individual, no matter how unpleasant the comment may be?

I may not know how to paraphrase my thoughts into words appropriately, but I know that have been there and done that, although I know it sucks to feel as if the world is against you.

I always feel that what does not kill you makes you stronger. And by His strength, I gain the courage to live each day like it is a brand new one. But still I do not regret the things I have said, even though I realise how harsh I have been earlier. At least I do not have to repeat myself because I have said what I wanted to say.

Power makes me realise how destructive it is. Power makes you lose friends, even yourself; and sometimes, things cannot go back to the way they used to be, even if time stands still. Power, in many aspects, scares me. Power, if misused and abused, can really be scary.

Anyway, I just like to say that Cheng 少 is one of the best buddies anyone can ever have. Why do I say that? Because Cheng 少 never fails me! (:

This afternoon, Cheng 少’s listening became my intangible punching bag.

I promised him the whole story and I did. And the best thing was: He didn’t look at me with the kind of watchful eyes the others did when they heard about the issue. I’m super glad, you know (:

After the “URGHHH!” meeting, Cheng 少 and I went to Queensway Shopping Centre to shop for our black tees (I got my white tennis cap as well – FINALLY!) and then he accompanied me to Ang Mo Kio Hub to get – guess what? – my bikinis! I bought 2 sets, wooots. HAHAHA.

Don’t ask me why I can still be in the mood to shop after a pretty intense meeting. I think most of the “URGHHH!” (I really don’t know how to put that emotion into words) have been alleviated by the man himself (: It has stumbled upon me that Cheng 少 is the only guy who dares to walk the women’s section with me!

Gee, Surfer’s Paradise bikinis selling at a 70% sale. What a rip-off! I’m gonna get one more. The one I’ve been keeping my eyes on for quite a while: Billabong! Wheeee. That means I can finally RSVP for the Seventeen and Cleo’s beach parties in June! Oh, yay.

Alright, back to the picture.

After the buying process, Cheng 少 and I just walked around the mall for a while, talking about the past between us. However, when we were about to go up one more storey to continue shopping, a man in front of me stepped on my slipper and I tripped and twisted my left knee – the one with the old ligament injuries.

Usually when that happened, I would be able walk after a few minutes. But tonight, it hurt real bad that I had to limp all the way home. But dearest Cheng 少 offered to send me home! The whole time, I interlocked my arm in his so I could walk. And there was this bunch of SP students we came across who were staring at us! How embarrassing (and unglamorous), please.

We bought Mr Bean’s Super Soyamilk before taking 169 together (where I bumped into an old secondary school friend while waiting for the bus). The bus alighted at the stop before my block and Cheng 少 kept offering to piggy-back me home but I refused.

The last time he piggy-backed me was during one of the RIC first aid trainings where we had to learn the different kinds of emergency safety evacuation techniques. That time, he was only carrying me around the Moberly amphitheatre stage and he said I was heavy, when I barely weighed up to 40 kilograms! And just now, he said the same thing he did a few months back when he carried me up the stairs home.

:( Now I feel soooooo fat. Pffffft.

But thank you, Cheng 少! For accompanying me and sending me home, again.

Cheng 少 rocks (:

And because of my knee, Mommy says I’ll have to stay home to nurse the injury tomorrow. That means no church and no CG meeting!

Rwarrr. I’m gonna pray now.
